At Urban Travel Blog we’re big fans of shared bike schemes. And whilst their primary purpose is to help residents commute by bike, helping combat the twin evils of pollution and congestion, they do also open up a new world of possibilities for the saddle-savvy tourist – as demonstrated in this article by Richard Tulloch, where he explores Melbourne courtesy of the city’s public blue bicycles. In this infographic below, by the flights comparison site, Momondo, we can see the pros and cons of hopping onto five of the most famous share systems in Europe, from Paris’ renowned Velib bikes (as photographed with other Parisian two-wheelers here, by our reporter Monika Chodakowska), to London’s legendary “Boris bikes”.
