A month-long celebration of sustainable art arrives in Pittsburgh this autumn, and with scores of events taking place around town, it is the perfect way to explore Pittsburgh’s attractions, 90 neighborhoods and iconic green architecture…
Celebrate artistic sustainability throughout Pittsburgh from September 9 through October 9 with the debut of the Re:NEW Festival! For one month, you’re invited to explore sustainable efforts in the form of art exhibitions, performances, artist markets, music, workshops and more. Held in a city calling attention to its own transformation from a polluted steel town to a global leader in environmentalism, Re:NEW is a must-experience event for the ecologically conscious, artistically motivated, architecturally savvy and those just looking for a vibrant fall adventure!

Don’t miss the highlight of the Re:NEW Festival, the North American premiere of Drap-Art, also called the International Festival of Recycled Art. Based in Barcelona, Spain, Drap-Art brings artists from across the globe together to create provocative and innovative art using repurposed materials. To experience this internationally acclaimed event, just visit the glass-enclosed Wintergarden at PPG Place during the festival.

From arts and culture to speakers and workshops, Re:NEW celebrates sustainability in a variety of fields. Pittsburgh organizations collaborated with international artists and events to create a line-up of diverse activities. Learn how to repurpose old Steelers shirts with the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, tour transformed vacant lots with Neu Kirche, take behind-the- scenes tours of Downtown buildings with Doors Open Pittsburgh and find art installations in unconventional spaces. With events located throughout the city, Re:NEW is the perfect way to explore Pittsburgh’s attractions, 90 neighborhoods and iconic green architecture.

While you’re here, experience more of the city’s unique festivals including: Thrival Innovation + Music Festival (September 20-24), VIA Music Festival (October 6-9) and Maker Faire Pittsburgh (October 15 and 16).
