Who are HolidayCheck?

HolidayCheck is one of the largest European independent travel portals. On www.HolidayCheck.com travellers find hotels matching their wishes and get in contact with other travellers for advice. Powering this is a database of 10 million hotel reviews and pictures.

So how does our competition work?

It’s easy. From 6^th July – 2^nd August 2015 there will be four challenges. One each week, starting every Monday! If you are able to complete the challenge then you are in with a chance to win the prize for that week. There will be one winner chosen randomly each week, and announced the following week.

We won’t reveal exactly what prize is on offer during any given week, just to keep you on your toes, but your chances are high if you get your thinking cap on!

What is the criteria for each challenge?

So, we really want to make this a ‘challenge’ as these coveted tickets really are like gold dust for sports’ fans – and yes, we are very jealous we can’t keep them for ourselves! 😉

Challenge 1 – Top Hotel Reviewer

We’re looking for those reviews that are full of detailed advice and make the difference to your fellow travellers. We want your hotel reviews to be as rich in information as possible (minimum 160 characters). Whether it ticked all the right boxes or left A LOT to be desired, we want to hear from you!

Challenge 2 – Top Photographer

You only need publish 25 pictures to be in with a shout at being our Top Photographer of the Week. The best images would be pictures that succeed in capturing your entire holiday experience. We’re talking everything from the interior of you hotel room to cultural attractions you have visited during the day – and not forgetting that breathtaking sunset you saw on the beach. We’re sure that you have a lot of amazing photos from your recent holidays that you could share!

Challenge 3 – Cultural Explorer

From your favourite beer garden, cafe or coffee bar to your personal experience visiting the likes of La Sagrada Familia, the Eiffel Tower and the Colisseum , we want your reviews of attractions and personal tips on places to visit in great holiday destinations around the world. Maybe you know somewhere just perfect for sampling the local wines and cuisine, or the best time of day to visit the London Eye… if so we want to hear your advice. The more detailed your description the better as we want to know all about your tips from your adventures (minimum 100 characters)!

Challenge 4 – Ultimate Traveller

For the final challenge we are searching for that special traveller who is really going out of their way to help their fellow exploreres. This means 1 hotel review, 1 things to do review and 25 or more pictures all published on HolidayCheck.com. The Ultimate Traveller will be chosen based on their overall contribution, from the first till last day of the competition. That means if you have completed all of the three previous challenges then you will be automatically entered into the selection pool for this final round. 

Reading this in the final week? Don’t worry, you can still be in with a chance of winning the final prize by completing all of the three final challenges before 2nd August (you will of course have missed out on your chance of winning the three prizes on offer for those three challenges, but you will still be considered for the final prize!).
